Project Description
Forcum Lannom Contractors has constructed several storm shelters for communities such as Dyersburg, Halls, and Newbern. The shelters were designed by Fisher & Arnold, Inc. and constructed in compliance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements. The structural foundations contain 25 tons of rebar and 550 cub yards of concrete, while the walls are constructed with CMU walls and contain 150 cub yards of grout fill, 35 tons of rebar, and 26 tons of structural steel.
The shelters are designed to withstand 250 MPH wind speeds and impacts from projectiles weighing 15 lbs. propelled at speeds up to 100 mph.
