Project Description
Forcum Lannom Contractors was the Design-Builder for Coca-Cola Bottling Company United’s New LEED® Certified Bottling Facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This project consisted of site selection, design, and construction of a 750,000 square foot Bottling Facility, 56,000 square foot Corporate Office, 50,000 square foot Fleet Maintenance Facility, several other support buildings, and over 1,000,000 square feet of concrete paving on a 112-acre campus.
As Design-Builder, Forcum Lannom performed all phases of the site, utility, and building design and construction and obtained all permits from local, state, and federal authorities.
The project was located on airport property and had flood plain and wetland areas. There were numerous obstacles to work through to obtain FAA and US Corps of Engineers permits.
Coordination of building and utility design and construction with design and installation of process equipment for water purification, product blending, bottling lines, material handling, packaging, and warehousing was also completed by Forcum Lannom.
The facility contains filling lines for cans and bottles of carbonated beverages, water, and hot fill lines for bottles of isotonic beverages. These containers are then packaged, warehoused and distributed from this facility.
