Project Description
The new center couples culinary concepts with manufacturing while combining pilot plant capabilities with research and development in a state-of-the-art culinary kitchen. The Customer Innovation Center will employ customer and consumer insights, food trends, and nutrition and science to develop, test, and perfect products in a technology-rich, creative environment. The 15,000-square foot facility includes an open workspace, a modern culinary kitchen with viewing windows, and a conference center with the latest technology to support virtual meetings for customers anywhere in the world.
The Customer Innovation Center is located on the Wayne Farms campus in Decatur, with two state-of-the-industry production plants equipped to take new products from concept to center-of-plate entrees without ever leaving the complex. The Customer Innovation Center features a 510-square foot walk-in freezer, a 155-square foot walk-in cooler, a raw dry storage space, and spice room with the technology and equipment needed to produce any product in development. Products developed in the Customer Innovation Center are ready to go into full production and out into the marketplace.
